Human Factors Engineer - Level 3 or 4
About The Position
Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector has an opening for Human Factors Engineers 3/4 to join their team. This position will be located in Huntsville, Alabama. The role involves applying human performance principles, methodologies, and technologies to the design of human-machine systems and products. Candidates should have experience interfacing with design engineers to establish system design, operating, and training requirements and to ensure optimized human-machine interfaces. Candidates will identify and analyze technological problems or risks, perform theoretical human factors investigations, and develop and implement demonstration agendas and plans. Candidates will also support UI and message visualization teams with feedback on design of human interfaces.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 1 year of related professional/military experience (for Level 3)
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 8 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 6 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military experience (for Level 4)
- Strong communication skills
- Experience demonstrating concepts to management and customers
- Experience with Visualization Tools
- Experience with software development: C++, Python, Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Experience with model-based systems engineering products and/or Mission Engineering (e.g., Cameo Suite) and Agile framework (e.g., Jira/Confluence)
- Experience with MS Office Tools (PPT, Doc, etc.)
- A current/active DoD government Secret clearance to start

Responsibilities
- Orchestrate content and conduct of customer demonstrations of BSW Program and software
- Ensure successful coordination with all stakeholders, including Program Management, Leads, and technical team members
- Plan demonstration storyboard, agenda, win theme, success criteria
- Design, review and brief presentations to program leadership and prospective customers
- Coordinate development goals, fixes, need dates, code complete milestones
- Prepare, review, integrate and test demonstration products developed by software and SE teams
- Request defect correction, integrate hotfixes
- Manage logistics including facilities, infrastructure, hardware
- Identify, manage and communicate risks
