About The Position

This Human Capital Specialist role focuses on process improvement, performance measurement, and change management, specifically by designing and managing awards programs to celebrate workforce excellence. The specialist will partner with leadership and HR teams to ensure recognition initiatives align with mission objectives, comply with policy, and deliver meaningful impact. Key responsibilities include program design, policy interpretation, data analysis, and event coordination. The role requires the ability to build trusted relationships, anticipate needs, and propose innovative solutions that make employees feel valued and motivated, ultimately contributing to a culture of appreciation that drives performance.

Requirements

  • Experience building credibility and driving adoption
  • Experience developing and administering awards programs, including policy compliance and stakeholder coordination
  • Experience performing optimally under tight time constraints and adapting to last-minute changes without loss of quality
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio, and using technology to manage HR program administration
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and timelines across multiple stakeholders and workstreams
  • Ability to distill complex data into succinct, jargon-free narratives and presentations for senior decision-makers
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or Organizational Development

  • Experience managing high-volume, quick-turn taskers while maintaining composure and precision in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience automating awards workflows using HRIS or workflow tools such as ServiceNow or Workday

  • Ability to use critical thinking, including problem framing, research, and option evaluation, to provide clear, actionable recommendations
  • Possession of excellent advisory skills with a client-service mindset
  • HR-related Professional Certifications
