About The Position

The HCM Associate role supports the full recruitment and employee experience. You'll help coordinate hiring, onboarding, engagement activities, and key HR administrative tasks—all while building broad HR generalist skills.

Requirements

  • 4 courses or 12 mos. exp. in human resources.
  • General office practices and customer service.
  • Agency policies, HR practices, and fair employment laws.
  • Civil service rules, bargaining agreements, and government structure.
  • Interviewing methods, selection tools, and social media recruitment.
  • HRIS systems (OHMS, OAKS).
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Taleo, OnBase, LinkedIn, and other common HR tools.
  • Developing behavioral and values-based interview questions.
  • Critical thinking and troubleshooting.
  • Communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
  • Manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast-moving environment.
  • Interpret policies and follow instructions accurately.
  • Analyze problems, prepare accurate reports, and identify issues proactively.
  • Work independently while also contributing to team goals.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage job postings using OHMS and Taleo.
  • Screen applications and coordinate the interview process from scheduling to facilitation.
  • Support hiring managers with applicant materials and candidate communications.
  • Assist with pre-hire steps such as reference checks, welcome packets, and onboarding tickets.
  • Send exit interview surveys, assist with separation tasks, and help gather equipment/assets.
  • Represent the agency at recruitment events such as job fairs, school visits, and professional association events.
  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, universities, and professional organizations.
  • Suggest updates to position descriptions to review to keep them current and accurate.
  • Collaborate with the DAS Engagement Team to manage content for the DAS LinkedIn page.
  • Recommend and source content for the LinkedIn content calendar.
  • Post engaging updates highlighting achievements, culture, events, and job opportunities.
  • Support analytics and reporting (follower growth, engagement trends, post performance).
  • Assist with implementing the LinkedIn Strategic Plan and any updates.
  • Provide support on HCM position description projects and agency engagement events.
  • Assist the OhioLearn Administrator with training registrations, tracking, and maintenance.
  • Update the agency Table of Organization and post updates bi-weekly.
  • Participate in committees and project teams as needed.
  • Respond to customer inquiries with a strong focus on service.
  • Cross-train within other OES program areas to build a broad HR generalist skillset.
  • Maintain confidential personnel files, scan documents to OnBase, and support general data entry and spreadsheet tasks.
