About The Position

The Recruiter serves under the supervision of the Recruitment Manager within the Human Resources Department and plays a key role in connecting talented professionals and students with meaningful careers in public service. This position independently performs the full cycle of recruitment and outreach for both full-time and internship positions across the State of Ohio. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in representing the mission of the Auditor of State's Office (AOS). Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:

Requirements

  • Completion of undergraduate core program in Human Resources, Business, or Public Administration
  • OR 2 years of experience in human resources
  • OR 1 year of experience as a Human Capital Management Analyst (64612)
  • OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the State of Ohio job classification standards.
  • Ability to travel frequently to colleges and universities throughout Ohio.
  • Must hold a valid Ohio driver's license and maintain a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the Ohio Hiring Management System (OHMS).

Responsibilities

  • Manage job postings and candidate pipelines on the Ohio Hiring Management System (OHMS), Handshake, and other approved recruitment platforms.
  • Review applications, screen candidates, and conduct preliminary interviews.
  • Attend career fairs, campus events, and classroom presentations across Ohio to promote the AOS internship and full-time employment opportunities.
  • Process pre-hire documentation and background checks in accordance with office policies and applicable laws.
  • Partner with HR leadership to develop outreach strategies that advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
