About The Position

BPC's Fall Internship Program is an in-person program where interns will work on-site at BPC's office in Washington, DC, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Interns are expected to work 18-20 hours per week for ten weeks and will receive a $3,000 stipend. This program is designed for juniors or above, current graduate students, or recent graduates. Interns will provide functional support, conduct research, and collaborate directly with policy analysts and staff. The Human Capital Program focuses on advancing solutions that harness the potential of American people, businesses, and the economy, addressing policy areas from early childhood through career.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate school, or be a recent graduate.
  • Strong research, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Efficient worker with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Interest or experience in social policy or economic policy.
  • Non-U.S. citizens must have a valid work permit or visa verifying eligibility to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in issues related to early childhood, worker benefits, education, business, and workforce development.
  • Experience with state and local policy.

Responsibilities

  • Work with BPC’s Human Capital team on analysis and research.
  • Monitor news and congressional activity.
  • Perform administrative tasks.
  • Support the program’s policy areas, including paid family leave, childcare, working family tax supports, K-12 education, workforce development, and postsecondary pathways.
