About The Position

The Human Anatomy Lab Assistant (HAL) will be responsible for preparing, guiding, instructing, and demonstrating anatomical structures for lab sessions. This role involves attending lab preview meetings, providing assistance during open labs for dissection and identification, and helping administer and grade laboratory exams. The assistant will also conduct individual and small group review sessions outside of scheduled lab times and assist with the care and maintenance of the lab and donor tissue. The position requires availability for all scheduled lab sessions, meetings, and preparations, as well as a minimum of 8 hours per week for open lab tutoring. This role is considered primary employment during the course dates.

Requirements

  • Must be a Physical Therapy Senior Student.
  • Must have taken PTBS-50100 and received a grade of B or better.
  • Must be available for all scheduled lab sessions, lab meetings, and all preparations.
  • Must be available for a minimum of 8 hours per week of open/lab tutoring (specific times TBD).
  • Must be able to attend all course dates (May 18th – July 30th, 2027) and the training course in Spring 2027.
  • Must be able to attend the extended course dates (May 10th – August 6th, 2027).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, guide, instruct, and demonstrate the anatomical structures assigned for each lab session.
  • Attend all lab preview meetings before the start of each lab session.
  • Provide assistants and supplemental help in open-labs for dissection and identification.
  • Assist in administering and grading laboratory exams.
  • Provide individual and small group review sessions outside scheduled lab times.
  • Assist with care and maintenance of HAL and donor tissue.
