About The Position

Under general supervision of the anatomy and physiology lab coordinator and biology department chair, tutors will assist anatomy and physiology students in learning anatomical structures. This role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. The tutor will maintain organization of laboratory models, quantify student usage of the lab, organize the anatomy teaching labs at the end of each semester, and inventory the lab models. The tutor must also maintain and submit their timesheets promptly and be available to meet with the anatomy and physiology lab coordinator as needed. The incumbent will also perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Earned an "A" in both Anatomy & Physiology I and II (Biol 2401 and 2402).
  • Demonstrates proficiency in human anatomy.
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to convey knowledge to student and help identify their learning needs.
  • Ability to utilize different methods to convey course material.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to maintain an organized lab/learning environment.
  • Ability to maintain student usage sign-in sheet.
  • Communicate respectfully, constructively, and supportively with co-workers, faculty, staff, students, and visitors across all forms of communication.

Responsibilities

  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.
