About The Position

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ management experience in affordable multi-family leasing or compliance in affordable housing with recertification experience
  • Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office MS Excel, required
  • Proficiency in Yardi Affordable, required, and experience with entering lease charges
  • Blended Section 8 &Tax Credit Certification, required
  • General knowledge of property management department functions such as: A/P and A/R, various housing subsidies, rent stabilization, leases, site marketing, and unit leasing, required
  • Knowledge of Section 8 rent determination.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Must have excellent communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin and/or Cantonese is a plus (ability to read, write, and speak)
  • Experience in supervising staff, preferred
  • Bilingual, Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees Compliance Specialists.
  • Leads and directs the work of others to ensure compliance needs are met.
  • When applicable, ensure compliance with all Public Housing Authority’s (PHA) regulatory and leasing requirements for a Section 8 Project Based Voucher (PBV) property.
  • Directly supervise Compliance Specialists.
  • Ensure appropriate leases are signed by residents.
  • Submit leases online to PHA in a timely manner.
  • Ensure lease charge adjustments are updated based on PHA rent determination.
  • Complete and submit monthly reporting required by senior management and the PHA.
  • Maintain property vacancy list and PHA provided applicant waiting list.
  • Prequalify income & screening of applicant referrals for unit vacancies.
  • Track and maintain all transfer inquiries and work with PHA on processing requests.
  • Handle the collection of rent payments and security deposits.
  • Assist residents with annual and interim recertification requests to PHA.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned/needed.
