About The Position

Amedisys is hiring a full-time, day-shift hospice aide serving the Mon and Preston Counties patient care territory. The role provides personal and supportive care to hospice patients in their homes, helping them remain comfortable and safe. The aide follows written personal-care instructions prepared by a registered nurse and works in accordance with the patient's plan of care. Pay is $17.00–$20.00 per hour and may vary by location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification or registration as a nurse assistant, according to state requirements.
• CNA experience within the last two years.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services to patients.
• Apply safety principles and proper body mechanics while assisting with ambulation, transfers, range-of-motion exercises, positioning, and household chores.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as assigned.
• Perform homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
• Observe, report, and document changes in a patient's status; report to the primary nurse if unable to perform a task.
• Follow specific written personal-care instructions prepared by a registered nurse and received before delivering services, in accordance with the plan of care.
• Assist patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by a nurse or therapist.
• Perform and record simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
