About The Position

The Housekeeping Inspector will report to the Housekeeping Manager and will be asked to perform some managerial functions. The Housekeeping Inspector is responsible for ensuring that guest rooms, corridors and public areas meet the hotel’s cleanliness, safety and quality standards. This role involves inspecting rooms after cleaning, supervising room attendants and ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction through attention to detail and consistent service quality.

Requirements

The ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent Hotel data.
The ability to communicate effectively in English with guests, managers, and colleagues.
Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of the department.
Knowledge of overall hotel operations as they affect the department preferred.
Possess a proven track record of effectively and empathetically training, mentoring, and managing hourly employees.

Responsibilities

Serving as team lead for the entire housekeeping staff including assigning and reviewing work.
Maintain high-quality cleaning standards.
Provide exceptional customer service and lead staff to do the same.
Respond to customer complaints quickly and resolve them effectively.
Communicate and coordinate with Engineering to ensure efficient maintenance and repair of items related to guest rooms and public areas.
Are reliable, organized, and comfortable managing a physically active role.
Ability to supervise subordinate staff, including, but not limited to, assignment of duties, evaluating service and taking disciplinary action when necessary.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear directions to the staff.
Observe performance and encourage improvement where necessary.
Perform guest room cleaning duties in cases of room attendant’s shortage.
