About The Position

The Housekeeping Inspector will report to the Housekeeping Manager and will be asked to perform some managerial functions. The Housekeeping Inspector is responsible for ensuring that guest rooms, corridors and public areas meet the hotel’s cleanliness, safety and quality standards. This role involves inspecting rooms after cleaning, supervising room attendants and ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction through attention to detail and consistent service quality.

Requirements

  • The ability to communicate effectively in English with guests, managers, and colleagues.

  • Possess a proven track record of effectively and empathetically training, mentoring, and managing hourly employees.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill necessary tasks.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 30lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
  • Minimum of 2 years Housekeeping experience.
  • Able to communicate in English.
  • Demonstrate natural leadership qualities with a positive, team-focused attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of overall hotel operations as they affect the department preferred.
  • Prior experience in a luxury hotel preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as team lead for the entire housekeeping staff including assigning and reviewing work.
  • Maintain high-quality cleaning standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and lead staff to do the same.
  • Respond to customer complaints quickly and resolve them effectively.
  • Communicate and coordinate with Engineering to ensure efficient maintenance and repair of items related to guest rooms and public areas.
  • Observe performance and encourage improvement where necessary.
  • Perform guest room cleaning duties in cases of room attendant’s shortage.
