The HSE (Safety) Specialist acts as the front-line safety professional, responsible for conducting safety inspections, observations, investigations, safety training, and ensuring regulatory compliance for OSHA, DOT, and EPA. This role involves anticipating and predicting hazards based on experience, historical data, and other informational sources, and recognizing and identifying hazards in existing or future systems, equipment, products, facilities, work sites, and operational work procedures. The specialist evaluates and assesses the probability and severity of loss events and accidents, applies methods of conducting hazard analyses, and interprets the results. The Safety Specialist provides advice and counseling about compliance with safety, health, and environmental laws, codes, regulations, standards, and related company requirements, and inspects workplace facilities, including tools, equipment, and machinery, to identify and correct deficiencies or potential hazards and ensure compliance.
