About The Position

The Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) team is responsible for maintaining a safe, compliant, and resilient workplace across the organization's global footprint. The team partners closely with Regulatory, Legal, Facilities, and regional stakeholders to identify and manage risk, strengthen governance, and drive the consistent execution of HSE programs and compliance requirements. As an HSE Risk & Controls Associate, you will play a critical role in advancing the organization's global HSE risk and control framework. You will help translate regulatory obligations and enterprise requirements into effective operational controls, ensuring programs operate consistently, are supported by high-quality evidence, and deliver sustainable, auditable outcomes. In this role, you will work across regions and functions to enhance control effectiveness, strengthen compliance processes, improve risk visibility, and support a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Your contributions will help ensure HSE programs remain scalable, effective, and aligned with evolving regulatory expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
  • 4–8 years of relevant experience in HSE compliance, regulatory affairs, risk management, governance, controls, audit, or related disciplines.
  • Experience supporting the design, implementation, testing, or oversight of risk and control frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of compliance programs, operational risk management principles, and control governance practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business processes and controls.
  • Experience evaluating documentation and evidence to support compliance, assurance, and audit-readiness activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, assess risk, and drive improvements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions and regions.
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards, and key performance metrics using data analysis and visualization tools.

  • Familiarity with compliance, governance, risk management, or workflow management systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the global HSE risk and control framework, ensuring clear alignment between regulatory requirements, internal standards, risks, and controls.
  • Translate regulatory obligations and enterprise requirements into practical, scalable controls that can be embedded within HSE programs and operational processes.
  • Maintain and enhance control inventories and control-mapping documentation linking requirements, policies, procedures, risks, and controls.
  • Define evidence requirements and promote consistent documentation standards to support compliance and audit readiness across regions.
  • Review and validate control evidence, including permits, inspections, risk assessments, and training records, to confirm completeness, accuracy, and effectiveness.
  • Support the maintenance of accurate and complete records within enterprise systems of record and compliance platforms.
  • Conduct control design and operating effectiveness assessments to evaluate whether controls are functioning as intended and mitigating risk appropriately.
  • Support assurance reviews, thematic assessments, and targeted evaluations of key risk areas to strengthen the overall control environment.
  • Identify control deficiencies, compliance risks, execution inconsistencies, and process improvement opportunities, and partner with stakeholders to implement sustainable solutions.
  • Analyze trends and findings from audits, inspections, risk assessments, and regulatory reviews to identify recurring issues, emerging risks, and systemic control concerns.
  • Support oversight of core HSE programs to ensure controls are operating effectively and delivering intended risk management outcomes.
  • Assist in developing, tracking, and validating corrective and preventive action plans, ensuring remediation activities address root causes and are supported by appropriate evidence.
  • Monitor remediation progress, escalate risks when appropriate, and help drive timely resolution of identified issues.
  • Develop reporting, dashboards, and performance metrics that provide actionable insights on compliance coverage, risk exposure, issue management, and control maturity.
  • Partner with Legal, Regulatory, and regional HSE stakeholders to promote consistency in control implementation, evidence management, and compliance practices globally.
  • Provide guidance and support to stakeholders on effective control execution, documentation expectations, and continuous improvement opportunities.
