About The Position

Vallen Safety Services is looking for a TEMPORARY HSE Officer to join their safety team in Pasadena, Texas. This role involves ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, planning safe working practices, conducting site inspections, and managing risk assessments. The position requires proven industry knowledge and experience, with a focus on maintaining a safe working environment.

Requirements

• High School or GED
• Minimum 3-5 year related experience
• Mechanically inclined
• Specific -- RELEVENT experience
• Current Motor Vehicle License with good driving record
• Commercial Driver's License required if carrying loads of hazardous materials
• Proficient with hand tools
• Assist warehouse personnel with order fulfillment if needed
• Maintain minimum productivity of 95% within 60 days
• Keep all certifications and licenses current and renewed by completing continuing education as required
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English (operational, process and quality instructions)
• Must pass Drug & Alcohol screen, Physical exam, and background check
• Pass all test requirements to be approved to work offshore. (If Applicable)

• Ability to work in climatic weather (cold/heat) during day or night operations

Responsibilities

• Making regular site inspections
• Planning safe working practices and making necessary changes
• Keeping up to date and ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation
• Ensuring that equipment is installed correctly/safely
• Writing reports, bulletins, and newsletters
• Undertaking risk assessments
• Identifying potential hazards
• Determining ways of reducing risks
• Liaising with relevant authorities
• Organizing/attending health and safety meetings
• Safely handling hazardous substances
• Compiling statistics
• Making recommendations following accidents/incidents
• Keeping up to date with developments within the profession
• Making presentations to groups of employees/managers
• Providing health and safety training courses for employees and managers
• Investigating/recording incidents, accidents, complaints, and cases of ill health
• Writing internal health and safety policies/strategies
• Drawing-up safe operational procedures
