About The Position

Luxfer Gas Cylinders is the world’s largest manufacturer of high-pressure composite and aluminum cylinders. The purpose of this position is to ensure that all Safety and Environmental related activities are carried out in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures and to ensure that the company complies with all Environmental, Health and Safety regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & Safety Sciences (or related field) strongly preferred or extensive work experience in the HS&E field.
• Minimum 3 years working in a manufacturing facility with a focus in Environmental, Health and Safety.
• Demonstrated experience preparing and delivering training.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the US.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience utilizing Behavior Based Safety Principles and/or programs in a manufacturing environment highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be the point person in the facility with anything related to policy, procedure and compliance aspects related to Health Safety and Environment.
• Review, maintain and improve all programs and procedures to ensure that the Company complies with OSHA and environmental regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate Luxfer Health, Safety and Environmental training, awareness and improvement program. This includes monthly training processes, deployment and reinforcement of behavioral safety. processes and HSE audits coupled with improvement planning.
• Prepare inspection reports, generate corrective actions.
• Complete applications for required permits for Storm water, Industrial User, and SCAQMD.
• Generate and maintain monthly and yearly reports.
• Provide energy, focus and drive to continuously improve our systems and processes.
• Lead our business wide safety team.
• Maintain ISO 14001 certification.
• Work with Worker’s Compensation insurance provider to manage all claims.
