Requirements

High school diploma and three (3) years of rig experience with a safety and environmental focus, including experience working with drilling crews, equipment, regulators, consultants, and operators; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Possession of a valid driver’s license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
English language fluency, verbal and written.
Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check, credit check and drug/alcohol test.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain safety and environmental programs designed to prevent accidents, injuries, property damage, and environmental harm while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
Travel up to 75% to drilling site locations, including on-site presence for rig moves, working with drilling crews to ensure compliance with company, local, state, and federal safety and environmental policies.
Conduct monthly inspections of drilling rigs and Rig/Weld Shop facilities in accordance with safety guidelines and procedures; maintain inspection records and produce detailed reports for management.
Collaborate with company environmental staff and regulatory agency representatives to ensure compliance with environmental quality standards, industry practices, and regulatory changes.
Conduct on-site safety training programs for drilling crews and administer company safety award programs.
Ensure compliance with the Hazard Communication Standard, including maintaining accessible Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all chemicals on each rig.
Investigate all incidents and accidents; prepare and submit incident reports to management and other entities as required.
Conduct root cause analysis for incidents, accidents, and equipment damage.
Remain current on regulatory changes in occupational safety, health, and environmental standards applicable to company operations.
Manage field and office priorities while providing regular status updates to management.
Review procedures and practices; recommend and implement improvements to enhance safety and environmental performance.
