About The Position

The HSE & Data Security Specialist serves as the department’s subject matter expert and coordinator for Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE), Information Security, and Data Protection programs. This role supports management in implementing and maintaining compliance with regulatory, corporate, and international standards, including OSHA, environmental regulations, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27701, GDPR, and internal management systems. The position is responsible for risk assessment, compliance monitoring, audit coordination, incident management, training, documentation control, continuous improvement activities, and fostering a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, information security, and data protection. The specialist acts as a liaison between business operations, employees, regulatory agencies, auditors, HSE leadership, CISO, DPO, IT, and other stakeholders to ensure organizational compliance and effective risk management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Information Security, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in HSE, environmental compliance, information security, data protection, compliance, risk management, auditing, or a related role.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements, risk management frameworks, and incident investigation techniques.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, cloud-based platforms, and business systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, ISO Lead Auditor, Security+, CISSP, CISM, CIPP, or equivalent are desirable.
  • Experience working with management systems including ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, and ISO 27701 preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain HSE, ISMS, PIMS and compliance management systems.
  • Identify and mitigate operational, safety, security, environmental and privacy risks.
  • Plan and conduct audits/inspections; manage findings and corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis and emergency response support.
  • Manage documentation, records and regulatory submissions for audit readiness.
  • Assess and monitor supplier/contractor compliance.
  • Deliver training and culture initiatives to improve safety and security behaviors.
  • Track KPIs, analyze performance data, and report to leadership.
