HSE Coordinator - Austin Industrial - (Houston, TX) (TPC Group)
About The Position
Austin Industrial is hiring an HSE Coordinator to execute the site safety program on an assigned project. The coordinator educates and trains project staff in safety requirements and incident-prevention practices and ensures compliance with company and customer safety policies. Most of the role is spent in the field observing work, coaching, auditing, and engaging craft employee-owners. The coordinator also helps project supervision resolve safety issues and fills in for the site HSE manager during absences. Other duties may be assigned. Austin Industrial provides self-perform maintenance, construction, and soft craft services to industrial customers in industries including oil, gas, chemical, food, agriculture, power, and manufacturing.
Requirements
- Four years of maintenance and construction safety experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- TWIC Card.
- CSST/NCCER certification.
- Legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States; the company cannot sponsor or assume sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.
- No minimum education requirement.
Responsibilities
- Build working relationships with customer representatives, project staff, and subcontractor safety representatives.
- Assist in preparing accurate safety reports and accident-investigation documents.
- Assist with staff safety training and subcontractor development.
- Represent the company positively and professionally with customers and subcontractors.
- Create and facilitate safety training and orientations aligned with project specifics and schedules.
- Participate in safety organizations outside the company in the assigned region.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s current safety manual, policies, and expectations.
- Spend the majority of the time in the field observing work, coaching, auditing, and engaging craft employee-owners.
- Help project supervision resolve safety problems and issues in the field.
- Fill in for the site HSE manager during absences.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
