Requirements

  • Pursuing degree in Health, Safety, Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, or Industrial Hygiene.
  • Minimum 3.5 GPA.
  • Proficient level of English.
  • Approachable and pleasant personality.
  • Teachable.
  • Self-driven.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with hourly and management employees.
  • Comfortable in a manufacturing/industrial setting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Proficient in data entry, and Microsoft programs including: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Risk Assessments for all equipment / tasks, including identification of risks to human health or life, likelihood of occurrence, current control measures, and needed additional control measures.
  • Conduct periodic comprehensive HSE audits at Faurecia Fraser.
  • Develop and/or revise HSE Start Up work instructions.
  • Conduct plant audits at each workstation to confirm an HSE work instruction exists or needs revision.
  • Create or revise HSE start-up instructions to ensure all workstations have them, processing them through the plant document control system.
  • Observe workstations plant-wide to ensure operators have the correct level of protection for their tasks (e.g., gloves, safety glasses, proper attire).
  • Observe workstations plant-wide to identify any hazards that may create a slip, trip, or fall.
  • Review equipment to identify anything unsafe, including machine guarding.
  • Maintain Environmental logs and records regarding materials and waste, energy use, and electricity.
  • Conduct environmental & safety training.
  • Assist with plant and state injury reporting, incident investigations, and claims reporting.
  • Develop revised Lockout Tagout Placards.
  • Work in conjunction with maintenance personnel to identify all lockout points and the proper lockout method for all equipment.
  • Document lockout tagout placards in work instruction format and process them through the document control system for each piece of equipment.
  • Develop lockout tags for specific hazards for machine locations in connection to the lockout tagout placard.
  • Audit and update MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) files and chemical inventory log.
  • Conduct plant-wide chemical inventory audit.
  • Ensure Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are on file for each chemical in-house.
  • Obtain any missing MSDS for processing.
  • Assist in incident investigation.
  • Perform HSE data entry and filing as needed.
  • Assist Senior Health, Safety, and Environment Manager in any additional needs.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the company.
