About The Position
Action Pact, formerly Concerted Services, Inc., is a community action agency dedicated to improving lives and communities for over 50 years. We are seeking a Limited Services Substitute to provide a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment for children. This on-call position involves assisting in classrooms with planning and implementing duties related to children and parents, as well as potentially supporting the Nutrition Department with meal preparation. The Substitute will be scheduled to work in the absence of the Teacher or Teacher Assistant. The role requires following established policies for reporting suspected child abuse, maintaining confidentiality, being courteous to staff, parents, and children, and responding appropriately to emergencies. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required for classroom substitutes.
- Valid Georgia Driver’s License.
Nice To Haves
- CDA/TCC or some course work in Early Childhood Education is preferred for classroom substitutes.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred for food service and custodial service substitutes.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the assigned classroom with planning and implementing all duties related to the classroom, children and parents as stated in the performance standards and on-site program review instrument.
- Assisting in the Nutrition Dept if needed to provide meals.
- Following the established policy for reporting suspected child abuse.
- Understanding, respecting and maintaining confidential information regarding children, families, and program.
- Being courteous and receptive to all Head Start staff, parents, and children.
- Responding appropriately to crisis or emergency situations that may occur.
- Performing other duties assigned.
