The HS Floater assists and cooperates in a supportive role with relieving teaching staff for breaks and planning time. This role promotes the health, safety, nutrition, and education of children in the classroom. The position requires adherence to Head Start Program Performance Standards, State of Louisiana licensing requirements, the RCCDC written work plan, and agency policies and procedures. The HS Floater must maintain professional relationships with staff and families, participate in program assessments, and ensure the confidentiality of children's records. Specific duties include adapting activities for special needs children, performing caregiving tasks, providing breaks for teachers, assisting with individualized programs and behavior plans, and fostering parental engagement. The role also involves preparing classroom supply inventories and attending meetings and professional development activities.
