The Associate Manager HSE (Safety & Health) is a key member of the Kalamazoo Paperboard Mill HSE team. This role is responsible for implementing strategic and operational plans to drive both short and long-term objectives and provides world-class expertise through demonstrated leadership. The position assists with the management of the Health & Safety function at the Mill, implementing strategic and operational plans to drive both short and long-term objectives, and provides world-class expertise through demonstrated leadership. The role is responsible for assisting with the management of the HSE Management System and related matters to safeguard the health and welfare of all employees, vendors, contractors, visitors, etc. This role reports directly to the HSE Sr. Manager at the Paperboard Mill and engages other operations and functions as required. The Kalamazoo Mill H&S Associate Manager supports the HSE global vision, mission, overall goals and objectives. The associate manager will have a history of sustained results, leadership, prioritization, coordination, and consistent deployment of strategy, customer service, and compliance. Direct responsibilities include Health and safety regulatory compliance and support with medical and worker compensation groups. The individual works cross-functionally and develops relationships to achieve compliance, positive employee and community relations, influences to create a positive HSE culture, and drives results that achieve positive business performance. The individual will influence proactively in a dynamic work environment. Expected results focus on driving a proactive, sustainable, and continuously improving HSE management system, developing and enhancing employee H&S knowledge, innovating transformation, and performing with excellence.
