About The Position

This senior HRIS Specialist role provides hands-on production support and administration for an established HRIS environment during the consolidation of two systems. You will focus on resolving support tickets, performing approved system maintenance, and supporting workforce management and payroll-related processes while the broader team drives consolidation, configuration, and testing. This is an individual contributor position working closely with internal subject-matter experts and an implementation partner, without people-management or overall project ownership responsibilities.

Requirements

  • At least five years of HRIS, HCM, or application-support experience, including a minimum of three years of recent, hands-on HRIS administration, support, or configuration.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve HRIS production issues independently while collaborating effectively within an established support team.
  • Practical experience supporting workforce management, including timekeeping, pay policies or rules, and related payroll impacts.
  • Experience across multiple HRIS functional areas such as employee data, security, workflows, forms, reporting, scheduling, payroll, or integrations.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and human resource information systems, including HR digital strategy and HR administration.
  • Ability to document work thoroughly, protect confidential employee and payroll information, and follow existing change-control and approval processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to HR, payroll, and workforce management scenarios.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including the ability to work with data and reports.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Five or more years of direct HRIS support, administration, configuration, or hands-on consulting experience.
  • Experience with HRIS implementations, environment consolidations, testing, or acquisition-related system integrations.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, automotive, distribution, multisite, hourly, shift-based, or unionized workforces.
  • Familiarity with HRIS reporting, integrations, data imports and exports, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Functional experience in core HR / people, workforce management, time and attendance, scheduling, pay policies, roles and security, workflows, forms, and reporting.
  • Additional experience in payroll, recruiting, onboarding, compensation, performance, learning, integrations, and data imports or exports.
  • Background in benefit analysis and HR administration.
  • Ability to thrive in a growing organization undergoing acquisition and merger-related changes, with interest in long-term career growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, prioritize, and resolve HRIS production support requests, identify root causes, communicate status to stakeholders, and document completed work clearly and consistently.
  • Support day-to-day HR data and structures, including employee records, work assignments, organizational structures, effective-dated changes, user access, roles, and security permissions.
  • Troubleshoot and implement approved changes to workflows, forms, notifications, approval routing, and related business processes within the HRIS.
  • Assist with standard and custom HR and payroll reporting, including data validation, data corrections, and practical system improvements requested by HR or payroll teams.
  • Coordinate closely with existing HRIS and payroll team members to maintain service levels, protect payroll timelines, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Support workforce management processes, including time and attendance, schedules, shift rotations, work patterns, time-entry policies, and workforce-management assignments.
  • Investigate and resolve timesheet exceptions, missed approvals, overtime, shift premiums, pay policies, rules and qualifiers, and related pay-calculation issues.
  • Review and analyze how approved configuration or process changes affect earnings, pay codes, payroll inputs, and employee pay, following established testing and approval requirements.
  • Assist with requests and configurations that support multi-site, hourly, shift-based, or union-represented operating environments as applicable.
  • Support the HRIS team and implementation partner with approved configuration or setup changes aligned with established business requirements during system consolidation.
  • Participate in configuration comparisons, data validation, user acceptance testing, regression testing, payroll and time testing, and follow up on identified defects.
  • Document configuration changes, test results, issue resolutions, and operating procedures, contributing in areas that best match your expertise and team priorities.
  • Contribute to HR digital strategy initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvement, enhanced reporting, and better use of HRIS capabilities.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and payroll information and adhere to established change-control and approval processes.
