Sompo has a unique opportunity for an HR Technology Solutions Architect in our Human Resources team. Are you the kind of person who loves to connect the dots between process, people, and technology? We’re looking for an HR Technology Solutions Architect who will be a key bridge between HR Technology, the HR Service Center, and HR PMO. In this hybrid role, you’ll get to do it all: lead projects, configure in Workday, improve HR processes, and keep our transformation initiatives on track. This is a high-energy, high-impact role designed for someone who loves rolling up their sleeves, asking smart questions, and turning big ideas into real results through innovative solutions. Location: This position can be based out of our Alpharetta, GA or Lenexa KS office; or be remote in the US. Requirements

  • 4–6 years of experience in HR Technology, HR Operations, or PMO, with a mix of project and technical experience preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with configuring Workday (Core HCM, Business Processes, Benefits, Help, Compensation, Payroll, Recruiting, or Absence).
  • Strong understanding of HR operations and process design; you know how work flows through an HR organization.
  • Familiarity with ticketing and organization tools like ServiceNow, Monday.com, Workday Help, or Jira.
  • Sharp organizational and analytical skills; you spot inefficiencies and turn them into action plans.
  • Proactive communicator who thrives in collaboration and strives to deliver products with excellence
  • A self-starter with an owner’s mindset who sees what needs to be done and makes it happen.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Projects Like a Pro: Lead and support HR Technology and HR Service Center (operations) projects from kickoff to delivery, coordinating milestones, tracking actions, and ensuring accountability while building sustainable documentation of technological design.
  • Be the Bridge: Translate between HR Service Center teams and technical experts to ensure smooth delivery, clear communication, and smart prioritization of Workday enhancements.
  • Configure and Create: Support configuration and testing in Workday and related HR systems, help automate manual processes, and streamline workflows.
  • Operational Excellence: Build standard operating procedures, track SLAs, and support knowledge articles and self-service enablement.
  • Problem-Solve with Impact: Triage issues, dig into data, identify root causes, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive resolution.
  • Keep the Momentum: Partner with the HR PMO to manage the HR Technology backlog of projects, update project boards (Monday.com), and keep leadership informed of progress.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement: Surface opportunities for automation, smarter reporting, and process simplification.
  • Fully Embedded in the Operations of HR: Learn how the organization runs day-to-day, understanding the flow between people, processes and systems while spotting opportunities for improvements.
