About The Position

DNCR Human Resources is seeking a well-rounded Recruiter to join our Division HR team division of Parks and Recreation! The Recruiter will collaborate with the HR Team to accomplish the day-to-day aspects of the State Parks recruitment, employment, and salary administration functions. This position's primary responsibility is recruitment, salary administration, onboarding and frequent interaction with managers, employees, applicants, and other divisions HR Team. This position requires experience utilizing HR policies and procedures and occasionally assisting in other HR functions such as time administration, benefits, worker's compensation, temporary employment, and processing personnel actions.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree, typically in Human Resources or relevant field from an appropriately accredited institution and 1 year of experience required; or 2 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or Equivalent combination or education and experience.

  • Candidates meet the minimum qualifications of this position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.
  • Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8-5, 40 hours a week.

  • To be eligible for a sign-on bonus, the candidate must not have worked as a probationary, permanent, or time-limited employee in the last 12 months as an employee in North Carolina state government, including without limitation the judicial system, state executive branch agencies, and the university system, subject to the State Human Resources Act.
  • Employee eligible for a sign-on must work at least 20 hours per week.
  • All Sign-on Bonuses are contingent upon budget and final eligibility determination as of the effective date of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience applying and/or interpreting NC State Government personnel policies and procedures clearly and/or concisely.
  • Demonstrated experience in a HR-Payroll system including processing personnel actions.
  • Demonstrated experience in recruitment and salary administration.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing an applicant tracking system
  • Demonstrated experience in processing temporary hires.

  • Occasional day/overnight travel may be required.
