As an HR System Solution Architect within PNC's HR Information Systems organization, you will be based in Columbus or Cleveland, OH; Atlanta, GA; Dallas or Houston, TX; Chicago or Downers Grove, IL; East Brunswick, NJ; Pittsburgh, PA; or Birmingham, AL. Analyzes, design and implements the organization's Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) platform, which may include system administration/support, improving the efficiency data collection and acting as a subject-matter expert for Varicent and Workday. Serves as a subject‑matter expert for incentive compensation and HR data processes, partnering with HR, Payroll, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable system solutions. Consults on the evaluation, design and analysis of HRIS for the organization and overseeing related activities and projects. Reviews data input, output and reports to ensure the accuracy of data in the HRIS. Monitors and recommends solutions for improving the efficiency of data collection and reporting procedures. Provides end user support and coordinates with other human resources functions to ensure that the HRIS is adequately and efficiently supports the organization's human resources practices; May lead process improvements where relevant. Recommends and may implement complex systems and technology solutions.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Varicent subject‑matter expert, responsible for platform configuration, administration, data integrity, and design decisions across incentive compensation programs.
  • Analyze business and compensation requirements and translate them into scalable, compliant solutions, partnering closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, and incentive plan stakeholders.
  • Lead the design and evaluation of Varicent architecture, including plan structures, hierarchies, rules, data mappings, and reporting models.
  • Oversee Varicent‑related initiatives and enhancements, including demand intake, design validation, testing oversight, and production readiness.
  • Review and validate inbound and outbound data, calculations, and reports to ensure accuracy, auditability, and consistency across payroll and downstream processes.
  • Monitor and recommend improvements to Varicent data flows, processing efficiency, and reporting performance, proactively identifying risks and optimization opportunities.
  • Provide advanced end‑user and stakeholder support, including issue triage, root‑cause analysis, and guidance on best practices.
  • Lead or contribute to process improvements and automation related to incentive compensation administration and Varicent operations.
  • Implement complex Varicent system and configuration solutions, including enhancements that reduce manual effort and increase reliability.
