As an HR System Solution Architect Senior within PNC's HR Information Systems organization, you will be based in Columbus, Cinncinati or Cleveland, OH; Atlanta, GA; Denver, CO; Dallas or Houston, TX; Chicago or Downers Grove, IL; East Brunswick, NJ; Pittsburgh, PA; or Birmingham, AL. What You’ll Do Lead with Expertise • Serve as the go-to Workday expert across key modules, advising leaders and partners on innovative capabilities and best‑in‑class design. • Translate business needs into intuitive, scalable solutions that enhance user experience and deliver measurable value. Shape the Future of Workday • Drive our Workday roadmap, partnering with stakeholders to define priorities, optimize existing processes, and introduce new features. • Evaluate emerging Workday functionality and proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Own the Configuration • Lead end-to-end Workday configuration efforts with a focus on high-quality design and seamless execution. • Conduct functional QA, ensure governance standards are met, and support smooth deployments across environments. Champion Release Readiness • Analyze Workday’s bi-annual releases, guide business partners through upcoming changes, and prepare the organization for successful adoption. • Serve as a key voice in shaping how new capabilities integrate into our processes and employee experience. Elevate the Team • Mentor HRIS colleagues, sharing knowledge, developing expertise, and fostering a culture of continuous learning. • Collaborate widely across HR, Payroll, Talent, and other functions to ensure alignment and clarity across the organization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on Workday configuration experience required.
  • Expertise in at least one major Workday module (Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking, HCM Core, Recruiting, Talent, Learning).
  • Deep knowledge of Workday configuration, business processes, reporting, and security.
  • Ability to translate complex business challenges into elegant Workday solutions.
  • Strong analytical thinking and a passion for quality, accuracy, and operational excellence.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships and influence decision-making.
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for mentoring others that will handle majority of the configuration.
  • Bachelors degree.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor HRIS colleagues, sharing knowledge, developing expertise, and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Collaborate widely across HR, Payroll, Talent, and other functions to ensure alignment and clarity across the organization.
  • Analyzes, designs and implements the organization's Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) platform, which may include system administration/support, improving the efficiency of data collection and acting as a subject-matter expert for applicable systems/processes.
  • May coach/lead other analysts/associates.
  • Consults on the evaluation, analysis and design of HRIS for the organization and oversees complex activities and projects.
  • May lead review of data input, output and reports to ensure the accuracy of data in the HRIS.
  • Recommends solutions for improving the efficiency of data collection and reporting procedures.
  • Provides end user support and coordinates with other human resources functions to ensure that the HRIS is adequately and efficiently supporting the organization's human resources practices; Leads process improvements where relevant.
  • Recommends and implements more complex systems and technology solutions.
