About The Position

Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Company, a manufacturer of pipe and fittings for over a century, is seeking a Human Resources Summer Temporary Associate for their Monroe, North Carolina location. This role offers the opportunity to support general HR tasks, including new hire preboarding and onboarding, record keeping, personnel file maintenance, employee communication, and HRIS data entry. The associate will also gain exposure to federal and state employment laws and learn candidate pre-screening processes.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Actively pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or related field
• Ability to work Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Work the entire program with no more than 1 week of scheduled time off
• Submit to and successfully complete background check and pre-employment drug test
• Proficient in MS office

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support general HR tasks including new hire preboarding & onboarding activities
• Record keeping and retention
• Maintaining Personnel Files
• Employee communication & follow up
• Human Resources Information System (HRIS) data entry
• Learn Federal and State employment laws, regulations & requirements
• Learn how to pre-screen/phone interview candidates
• Other duties may be assigned
