About The Position

The HR Specialist role is based at our Atlanta, GA Distribution Center and serves as a key partner to the HRBP‑Sr Manager and DC leadership team. This position acts as a subject matter expert for HR processes, systems, and day‑to‑day teammate support, with a strong emphasis on Employee Relations, which will be a primary responsibility. The role supports HR analytics, job description updates, employee relations case management, and overall teammate lifecycle initiatives within the Distribution Center.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Communications, or a related field; or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • 1–3 years of relevant HR experience, with direct exposure to employee relations strongly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and company information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to apply data‑driven and thoughtful judgment.
  • Proven ability to balance business needs with empathy, utilizing active listening, critical thinking, and sound decision‑making.
  • Ability to work the required schedule listed above.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a first‑line resource for teammate and leader HR questions and concerns within the Distribution Center.
  • Support Employee Relations investigations, documentation, and resolution in partnership with the HRBP‑ Sr Manager.
  • Provide guidance to leaders on performance management, corrective action, attendance, and policy interpretation.
  • Assist in developing and executing teammate engagement and retention strategies.
  • Partner with leadership to proactively identify ER trends and mitigate risk.
  • Facilitate HR processes and system procedures, including offer preparation, onboarding support, payroll oversight, and unemployment claims.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in company HR systems (HRM), support system enhancements, and assist with training and onboarding of new HR teammates.
  • Develop, maintain, and update HR templates, SOPs, and documentation; ensure updates are communicated clearly and consistently.
  • Guide and train business leaders on HR policies, processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Review HR dashboards and reports to identify trends, exceptions, and opportunities; partner with leaders to drive action.
  • Support performance review calibrations, talent discussions, and ongoing workforce planning.
  • Participate in special HR projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.
