About The Position

JT4 China Lake is seeking an experienced Human Resources Specialist that will be responsible for HR tasks and various administrative functions. The HR Specialist will need to be an excellent communicator, highly organized, multi-tasked, and be able to prioritize various projects. An ideal candidate will have an active Secret clearance. This position is located at China Lake and is not eligible for telework.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or human resources is required and at least three (3) years of job-related experience or equivalent combination of formal training and related work experience.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications
  • Ability to perform detail-oriented work
  • Must possess planning/organizing skills
  • Must be able to work under deadline
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must qualify for and maintain a government security clearance
  • Must possess a valid, state-issued driver's license.
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Experience with HRIS systems and workforce analytics

Responsibilities

  • Prepare actions such as Reprimands, Suspensions, and Terminations
  • Advise executives, managers, and supervisors on all aspects of employee relations, including appropriate handling of conduct and disciplinary matters.
  • Analyze complex misconduct and performance cases; determine recommended disciplinary actions; and draft related documentation
  • Serves as the primary contact for HR related matters within a company business unit or as a member of the Corporate staff. Uses established policies and procedures and subject matter knowledge to support, or individually perform, a variety of specialized administrative services.
  • Communicates and distributes HR-related information and documentation such as employee benefits, HR and Company policies and procedures
  • May serve as the HR liaison between the facility and the HR Corporate Office.
  • Develops and maintains database files for employee wage and salary reporting.
  • Processes and coordinates with payroll approved salary actions.
  • Develops and maintains database of employee benefit elections and related benefit plan documentation.
  • Counsels employees on a variety of HR issues, researches appeals, and may participate in issue resolutions.
  • Enters approved personnel actions into the Human Resource Information System (HRIS)
  • Prepares standard reports to respond to company or customer queries.
  • Performs related work as required
