About The Position

The HR Specialist role is within Target's Global Supply Chain and Logistics business, supporting Human Resources as a critical partner in building the best teams. This role infuses Target's distinctive retail brand into HR work by continuously experimenting, evolving, and innovating. The HR Specialist will have the chance to positively impact teams in distribution centers across the Target network, acting as a strategic partner to both leaders and team members who elevate and nurture the Target experience. The dynamic, passionate, and responsive HR team comprises specialized people-professionals from diverse disciplines, operating behind the scenes to create a progressive culture of value, respect, reward, and professional advancement. As an HR Specialist, you will enable the HR operating model by delivering consistent execution of HR processes, routines, and tools. You are a key partner and a reliable resource, helping ensure HR programs are delivered accurately, efficiently, and with a strong focus on the team member experience. Through onboarding, workforce routines, and ensuring timely completion and accurate recordkeeping of required training, as well as day-to-day HR services, you provide guidance and operational support that helps leaders and team members navigate HR processes and organizational change. You apply established best practices and standard procedures to support staffing, retention, engagement, and compliance needs, ultimately enabling teams to achieve business outcomes. You will interact regularly with site leadership, HR partners, and cross-functional teams, and may engage with external candidates or vendors as part of staffing, onboarding, and HR process execution. You approach your work with a solutions-oriented mindset, delivering HR services with accuracy, consistency, and care for the team. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of administrative experience
  • Maintains positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team environment
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, computer systems (examples include Excel, Word, O365)
  • Strong customer/client service skills and ability to communicate (written and verbal) with all levels of organization, both internal and external
  • Anticipates problems (and escalates when appropriate), demonstrates strong prioritization and organization skills, catches errors, and takes action to complete tasks accurately and on time
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information
  • Ability to take initiative, and make fair and consistent decisions that align with our strategy and values
  • Ability to multi-task and be a flexible team player, who can easily adapt to change
