About The Position

The Human Resources Specialist supports the daily operations that keep our workplace running smoothly. From onboarding new team members to maintaining employee records and assisting with payroll and benefits, this role works behind the scenes to support both employees and leadership. We’re looking for someone who’s organized, approachable, and comfortable juggling a mix of administrative and people-focused work.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of combined education, internship, or work experience in human resources or related administrative functions.
  • Exposure to HR practices, payroll, benefits administration, recruiting, or employee relations preferred.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems, office software, and basic reporting is a plus.
  • Strong interest in developing a career in Human Resources and supporting organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment activities, including posting job openings, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and maintaining candidate records.
  • Coordinate onboarding logistics for new hires, temporary staff, and interns, ensuring required systems access and resources are prepared in advance of start dates.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, and HR databases, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Assist in benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and general employee inquiries, working with vendors as needed.
  • Assist with special HR projects and initiatives, including policy updates, employee engagement programs, process improvements, and other assignments as directed by HR leadership.
  • Serve as backup for payroll processing as needed, including preparing payroll inputs, verifying data accuracy, and assisting with payroll-related inquiries.
  • Help coordinate training programs and professional development initiatives, including scheduling sessions and tracking completion.
  • Assist in monitoring performance management processes, including collecting evaluation forms and maintaining documentation.
  • Provide support in employee relations matters by documenting inquiries, complaints, and resolutions, and escalating issues to HR leadership as appropriate.
  • Maintain HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook, ensuring staff have access to current information.
  • Support HR reporting and compliance activities, including preparing routine reports, assisting with I9/OSHA/EEO data collection, and ensuring documentation is complete.
