About The Position

The HR Project Manager will be based in Buffalo Grove, IL, reporting to the Senior Director / Regional HR Business Partner. This role will be in charge of planning and coordinating all aspects of internal and external projects from initiation to delivery. The role focuses on delivering value by creating new products, services, or results that meet customer needs, improving efficiency, productivity, effectiveness, or impartiality, enabling necessary changes for organizational transition, and sustaining benefits from previous programs. The HR Project Manager will adapt to changes with a holistic view, utilizing a proper change control process to avoid scope creep and enable change to achieve the envisioned future state. This role requires utilizing change management skills to transition individuals, groups, and organizations from a current state to a future state where they realize desired benefits, and creating strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning. The role involves frequent interaction with customers and/or functional peer group managers, and may involve interaction with senior management, as well as frequent interaction with middle management and individual contributor groups.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent project management experience.
  • Typically requires 8+ years of PM experience, including supervision.
  • Demonstrates expert functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
  • Demonstrates detailed expertise in very complex functional/ technical area or broad breadth of knowledge in multiple areas, comprehension the strategic impact of the function across sites.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates projects of varying degrees of complexity from design and development to production.
  • Monitors project progress, timelines, and budget constraints to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Prepare purchase orders as per established process.
  • Performs feasibility and needs/impact assessments.
  • Defines resources (and resource allocation) and schedule for implementation.
  • Plan and schedule project deliverables, goals, milestones.
  • Directs and oversees project team and manages conflicts within group.
  • Performs team assessments and evaluations.
  • Delivers value creating a new product, service, or result that meets the needs of customers or end users; Improving efficiency, productivity, effectiveness, or impartiality; Enabling the changes needed to facilitate organizational transition to its desired future state; and Sustaining benefits enabled by previous programs, projects, or business operations.
  • Interacts frequently with customers and/or functional peer group managers.
  • May interact with senior management; frequently interact with middle management and unipersonal contributor groups.
  • Adapts to changes with a holistic view, such as a proper change control process, to avoid problems such as scope creep.
