About The Position

The Human Resource Generalist will assist with the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

  • 4 years of Payroll processing experience.
  • Must be 19 years of age or older.
  • All potential new hires will be subjected to a pre-employment background and motor vehicle check and drug screen.
  • To perform essential job duties, all potential new hires must be eligible to drive a company vehicle according to Super-Sod insurance guidelines:
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • No major safety and moving violations reported on MVR within the past (3) years.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in human resources administration.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRMs Specialty Credential.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents all payroll request to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
  • In collaboration with Company Recruiter, assist with interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions.
  • Support HR Coordinator’s efforts to maintain efficient onboarding practices; identify and recommend updates to current HR software, systems and procedures.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • May oversee the daily/weekly workflow of payroll and benefit enrollment.
  • May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.
