The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. The Human Resources Manager partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy, particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning. This role provides support and guidance to the HR Team Leader, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise. The HR Manager manages the talent acquisition process, analyzes trends in compensation and benefits, creates learning and development programs, oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations, and maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Additionally, the HR Manager is responsible for processing payroll for all employees, including special payrolls for discretionary bonuses or year-end adjustments, overseeing timecard approvals, and reviewing preliminary payroll reports. They must maintain knowledge of current trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
