Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment in Human Resources.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to work with varying levels within a multi-site plant environment.
  • Experience with human resources information systems (HRIS).
  • Ability to be responsive and persuasive at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to travel to other sites as needed.
  • Knowledgeable of general human resource concepts and legal requirements.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment within defined practices and policies.
  • Demonstrate a high level of confidentiality.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in human resources or related discipline.
  • 3-5 years human resources experience.
  • Previous experience working in a Union environment.

Responsibilities

  • Play a critical role in attracting, developing, and retaining talent to achieve business objectives.
  • Foster a high-performing culture where employees are empowered to grow, contribute, and succeed.
  • Serve as a trusted business partner, change champion, employee advocate, and culture builder across multiple manufacturing locations.
  • Lead the full spectrum of Human Resources activities across multiple Consumer Products manufacturing facilities in Washington.
  • Balance strategic business partnership with hands-on operational support.
  • Provide leadership in talent acquisition, employee and labor relations, performance management, leadership development, compensation, benefits, onboarding, compliance, and HR policy administration.
  • Develop and execute people strategies that support operational excellence, employee engagement, and organizational growth in partnership with Plant Managers and business leaders.
  • Collaborate with centralized HR Centers of Excellence to deliver consistent, high-quality HR programs while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, collective bargaining agreements where applicable, and company policies.
  • Drive workforce planning, coach leaders, strengthen organizational capability, support labor relations and contract negotiations where applicable, and create a positive employee experience for both hourly and salaried employees across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Implement monthly people metrics within the sites, proactively monitoring and collaborating with the Head of HR and Plant leadership to identify and address gaps.
  • Develop a deep understanding of plant operations to make informed decisions, provide valuable consulting to plant leadership, and offer strategic guidance on HR matters aligned with business objectives.
  • Foster a productive and inclusive employee experience through proactive initiatives based on feedback and identified initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Plant leadership, supervisors, and local employees to identify solutions that drive safety, sustainable cultural change and supporting business success.
  • Drive local ownership of People Leader activities ensuring creation of development plans, leveraging skills matrix, providing recognition, coaching and mentoring and managing performance documentation and evaluations to support organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with Plant Leadership and union representatives to ensure correct implementation and accurate interpretation of the contract terms, addressing inquiries, grievances, and other union-related issues for consistent application (for Unionized Locations).
  • Lead the development of local collective bargaining agreements and associated negotiations with employee unions (for Unionized Locations).
  • Lead the recruitment and selection process, ensuring quality and diversity of talent acquisition.
  • Responsible for new hire orientation and employee documentation control at the site.
  • Support the administration of benefits programs that enhance the well-being and retention.
  • Manage the local payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of employee compensation.
  • Comply with labor laws and regulations, and handle employment contracts, terminations and employee relations effectively.
  • Support the implementation of policies assisting with communication and local, state and federal compliance.
  • Implement performance management process that fosters employee growth and accountability.
  • Conduct exit interviews and monitor HR trends to implement retention best practices.
  • Partner with leaders to implement employee engagement and community initiatives that cultivate a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
