About The Position

Menzies Aviation is seeking a Human Resources Manager to join a team dedicated to operational excellence. The ideal candidate will foster a culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration, and teamwork. This role requires strong organizational skills and extensive experience in a broad range of human resources strategies and practices, including Performance Management, safety, hiring, and employee relations, with a strong understanding of employment regulations. Reporting to the Regional Director Human Resources, the HR Manager is responsible for senior-level support across all HR functions, ensuring end-to-end service delivery. This includes coordinating activities with local management, employees, unions, airport officials, and outside agencies, while working closely with senior management and Corporate Human Resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
  • CHRL designation.
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years’ senior, progressive, and relevant HR experience.
  • Proficient knowledge and work experience in all Human Resources functions and activities.
  • Thorough knowledge of all related HR laws, regulations, with preference in the Federal sector.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experienced in dealing with work of a confidential and sensitive nature.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Solid problem-solving skills.
  • Competence in multitasking with the ability to deal effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with authority members, peers, employees, and outside entities.
  • Ability to present information and make recommendations effectively in oral and written form in English.
  • Excellent communication skills across all different work levels.
  • Computer literate, knowledge of Microsoft Packages, UltiPro, Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a multiple unionized environment is preferred.
  • Fully versed in International Aviation Safety and Security standards and passionate about promoting them within the organization.
  • Knowledge of Insurance software.

Responsibilities

  • Serve management, employees, and outside clients by handling day-to-day questions, concerns, and resolving work-related problems.
  • Implement Menzies policies and procedures as outlined in the Eight Pillars of Management.
  • Analyze data, prepare reports, and make recommendations on various human resources issues.
  • Coordinate employee relations activities and programs, including employee counseling, interpretation of policies, collective agreements, programs, and government regulations within the Federal sector.
  • Provide escalated counseling and support to management and employees.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly reporting for unionized benefits and dues.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.
  • Coach management, offering feedback and advice on employee and organizational issues.
  • Act as a catalyst/change agent by implementing recommendations to improve efficiency and operations.
  • Perform at a strategic level while also being a hands-on, working leader.
  • Stay updated on overall administrative operational activities of the Stations, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions.
  • Suggest improvements to working practices, especially those related to Safety & Security.
  • Maintain detailed and up-to-date records/reconciliation for all required functions.
  • Establish, maintain, and promote effective working relationships with external suppliers.
  • Assess, monitor, and develop all Human Resources staff (as applicable).
  • Ensure Menzies business units remain fully compliant with internal control standards and all relevant industry, regulatory, and Federal legislated requirements.
  • Ensure all work is carried out observing safe working practices for self and others.
  • Confer with Station Managers on complex issues requiring direction or approval.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by direct management.
