About The Position

Human Resources Manager Dudley Land Company — Katy, TX Full-Time · In-Office · Exempt · Reports to the President If you're an HR leader who likes owning the whole function, not just one slice of it, this one's worth a look. We're looking for a Human Resources Manager to lead people operations for Dudley Land Company and our affiliated companies. This is a hands-on leadership role with real ownership: you'll set the tone for how we hire, pay, support, and grow our team, and you'll have a direct line to the President to make it happen. We're currently searching nationwide for a candidate willing to go on-site in one of our 3 offices: Oklahoma City, OK, Katy, TX, or Canonsburg, PA. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred)
  • 3+ years as an HR Manager or Generalist
  • Experience running payroll for a multi-state employer
  • Working knowledge of labor law and the alphabet that comes with it; DOL, FLSA, ACA, EEOC, FMLA
  • Hands-on experience administering employee benefits and 401(k) plans
  • A track record in hiring employees and contractors
  • Leadership skills to set direction, engage people, and get results; including supervising a team and juggling concurrent projects
  • Strong organization and a genuine eye for accuracy, especially with numbers and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with people at every level
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and the kind of integrity this role requires
  • Comfort with Microsoft Office and general office technology

Responsibilities

  • Manage HR team (an HR Specialist & a Recruiter) and select administrative staff, set priorities, run performance reviews, and keep multiple projects moving at once.
  • Oversee semi-monthly payroll for a multi-state operation, review timesheets, commissions, and expenses, and keep our compensation practices competitive and FLSA-compliant.
  • Manage our benefits programs and 401(k) plan, negotiate annual renewals with our broker, handle monthly reconciliation, and be the person employees trust to explain their options clearly.
  • Partner with managers, to understand staffing needs, write and post openings, review resumes, interview, and supervising onboarding that sets new hires up to succeed.
  • Be a steady, fair presence; fielding questions, resolving disputes, and handling sensitive matters with discretion and good judgment.
  • Keep us current and compliant with employment regulations (DOL, FLSA, ACA, EEOC, FMLA), maintain the employee handbook, job descriptions, and procedure manuals, and own our personnel records and reporting.
