The HR Manager, North America is a hands-on, tactical role responsible for executing all day-to-day Human Resources functions across assigned U.S. sites. This role will serve as the sole HR resource for approximately 150 employees across multiple locations and will be responsible for the full employee lifecycle, including payroll processing, benefits administration, employee relations, and compliance. This position requires a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting both hourly and salaried populations. The HR Manager will partner with site leadership to ensure consistent application of policies, timely resolution of employee matters, and accurate execution of HR processes.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of progressive HR experience, with strong emphasis on payroll and benefits administration
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. employment laws and HR compliance requirements
  • Hands-on experience with payroll systems (Paycor, ADP or similar) and HRIS platforms
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Experience supporting multi-site or manufacturing environments strongly preferred
  • Experience working as a standalone HR resource or in a small HR team environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Process and manage end-to-end payroll for U.S. employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Maintain employee data in HRIS (Paycor or similar), including new hires, terminations, job changes, and compensation updates
  • Audit payroll data, deductions, and tax withholdings; resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Partner with Finance as needed for reporting and reconciliation
  • Administer all employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, HSA, and 401(k)
  • Manage open enrollment, employee communications, and benefit changes
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefit inquiries and issue resolution
  • Coordinate with external vendors (e.g., insurance carriers, HSA providers) to ensure accurate enrollment and file processing
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including orientation, documentation, and system setup
  • Prepare and maintain employee records, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Support recruiting coordination as needed (job postings, interview scheduling, offer letters)
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee and manager questions regarding policies, procedures, and workplace concerns
  • Investigate and resolve employee relations issues, ensuring consistent and fair application of company policies
  • Support disciplinary processes, documentation, and terminations in alignment with company practices
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Maintain and update employee handbook, policies, and required postings
  • Support audits and reporting requirements (EEO-1, ACA, etc.)
  • Administer leave programs including FMLA, ADA, and other applicable leaves
  • Provide on-site HR support to assigned locations, maintaining visibility with employees and leaders
  • Support workforce changes including hiring, reductions, and organizational updates
  • Partner with site leadership to address attendance, performance, and workforce needs
