About The Position

Reporting to the CEO, the HR Manager is a player-coach role: equal parts hands-on HR generalist and culture-builder, with full ownership of recruitment and immigration. You'll own day-to-day HR operations — from sourcing and hiring through onboarding, offboarding, compliance, and HRIS administration — while also leading the initiatives that shape employees’ experience working at ABI. This full-time role suits an HR professional who wants ownership over the operational, cultural, and talent-acquisition sides of HR, is comfortable overseeing and working across time zones with the HR administrators in Prague and Korea and enjoys building programs from scratch as much as running the ones already in place.

Requirements

5+ years of progressive HR experience, including direct, hands-on ownership of HR operations (not purely oversight).
Experience with semiconductor, technology, or engineering-driven company culture.
Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated experience building or significantly growing culture, engagement, or employee experience programs.
Solid working knowledge of California employment law (wage and hour, Labor Code requirements, leave laws).
Experience administering an HRIS platform (Rippling, BambooHR, Workday, or similar).
Demonstrated full-cycle recruiting experience, from sourcing through offer close, ideally in a technology or engineering-driven environment.
Hands-on experience managing employment-based immigration cases (e.g., H-1B, STEM OPT) in partnership with outside counsel.
Experience administering employee benefits programs and managing broker relationships through annual renewals.
Resourceful, with a bias toward figuring things out, finding the sources or relationships needed, and getting things done independently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills across diverse, global audiences.

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting international offices or globally distributed teams, ideally including Europe or Asia.
Experience recruiting for engineering or technical roles specifically.
PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification.
Experience with Rippling specifically or leading an HRIS/ATS platform migration.

Responsibilities

Design and lead culture-building initiatives that translate ABI's engineering-driven values into everyday practice across Sunnyvale, Prague, and Korea.
Own the onboarding experience end-to-end, ensuring new hires in every office feel welcomed, informed, and connected to the company from day one.
Own full-cycle recruiting for ABI's open roles — partnering with hiring managers to scope roles, sourcing and screening candidates, managing the interview process, and driving offers to close.
Oversee and work closely with the HR administrators in Prague and Korea on local recruitment efforts, ensuring hiring in both offices is consistent, well-coordinated, and aligned with global process.
Partner closely with managers to run goal setting and performance review cycles across the company.
Guide managers through performance improvement plans and other corrective action, ensuring consistency, fairness, and clear documentation.
Own US immigration case management end-to-end and work with Prague and Korea HR administrators for ABI employees and candidates, including visa sponsorship and related filings, in direct partnership with outside immigration counsel.
Personally manage day-to-day HR administrative processes, including employee data management, records maintenance, and Rippling/HRIS updates.
Run onboarding and offboarding processes hands-on, including new hire paperwork, orientation logistics, and exit procedures.
Administer and communicate company policies clearly, ensuring the Employee Handbook and related materials stay audit-ready.
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions and concerns, resolving issues directly and escalating only where needed.
Own US benefits administration end-to-end, including health, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
Own the day-to-day Rippling relationship — administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and evaluation of new modules.
Partner with Finance, and IT on HR-related projects and initiatives.
