About The Position

The HR Information Systems Analyst reports to the Associate Director for Information Resources and Systems and is responsible for supporting, configuring, and enhancing Colorado State University’s Human Resources systems, including Workday HCM. This position focuses on business process configuration, report writing and configuration, security assignments, troubleshooting, and functional support. The HRIS Analyst collaborates with HR functional teams to ensure Workday HCM supports operational needs, policy requirements, and regulatory compliance. Essential Job Duties: Configure, maintain, and support Workday HCM, including business processes, security roles, reporting (calculated fields, matrix reports), and functional troubleshooting to meet HR and campus needs. Assess, test, and implement Workday biannual releases and enhancements, ensuring configuration changes align with functional requirements, pass testing, and are production-ready. Partner with HR functional units and campus stakeholders to translate business needs into effective Workday configuration, reporting solutions, and system improvements. Develop and analyze Workday data and reports to ensure accuracy, compliance, data integrity, and to provide actionable insights for HR operations, leadership, and auditors. Provide user support, documentation, and training, including responding to help tickets, creating job aids and reference materials, and communicating system changes clearly to diverse audiences. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Two or more years of experience supporting enterprise applications, preferably HR systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to positive client experience.
  • Experience with system configuration: requirements gathering, business process design, testing, user acceptance, deployment, and change management.
  • Experience with data analysis and report writing.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across functional teams.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new systems and applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting or configuring Workday HCM, writing Workday reports and creating calculated fields.
  • Understanding of HR processes such as payroll, benefits, and employee lifecycle activities.
  • Experience in security management, especially in Workday.
  • Experience managing HRIS-related projects or system updates.
  • Ability to lead projects with limited oversight and influence cross-functional teams without direct supervisory authority.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing expectations.
  • Demonstrated high integrity with confidential information.
