About The Position

This is an onsite position located at the Las Vegas, Nevada Distribution Center, Monday through Friday Position Summary: The HR Generalist serves as the day-to-day, on-site HR resource for associates at the Fortune Brands Innovations Distribution Center in Las Vegas. Reporting to the site HR Manager, this role is primarily operational and associate-facing, providing hands-on support to a large hourly workforce across a variety of HR topics. As a trusted point of contact, you will respond to associate questions, support core HR processes, support operations leadership and play an important role in maintaining engagement, communication, and smooth execution of HR programs in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Batchelor's degree and 2+ years of experience and/or GED and equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience working in an HR environment supporting employee populations using HR systems (Workday preferred).
  • Experience in a distribution center, warehouse, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with hourly associates and leadership.
  • Microsoft Office skills including demonstrated experience with large data sets, using pivot tables, VLOOKUP, conditional formatting, etc.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, operational environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while supporting site leadership.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Practical problem solver with a service-oriented mindset.
  • Flexible and adaptable, comfortable working through change.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for associates, providing day-to-day HR support and guidance on policies, procedures, benefits, and HR programs.
  • Support core HR operations, including weekly payroll review and submission, timekeeping audits, and accurate entry of HR data and transactions in Workday and related systems.
  • Support benefits administration activities, including open enrollment support, answer associate questions, and assist with benefit-related communications and processes.
  • Provide support for recruiting efforts as needed, including screening and interviewing, and scheduling candidates.
  • Lead and coordinate pre-employment and onboarding activities, including conducting new hire orientation, completing I-9s, and ensuring required training is delivered.
  • Create and distribute associate-facing communications, ensuring important messages are clear, timely, and effectively delivered.
  • Partner with the site’s engagement committee, participating in meetings, events, and initiatives that support morale, culture, and retention.
  • Assist the HR Manager with HR initiatives and projects, including process improvements, reporting, documentation, and data gathering.
  • Support additional HR and ad hoc projects in response to site and associate needs.
