About The Position

The Part-Time HR Generalist provides 25 hours a week of day-to-day human resources support for Ain Dah Yung Center (ADYC), with primary responsibility for recruitment and onboarding, benefits administration, leave administration, employee records, payroll review, and employee relations support. This position serves as a resource to employees and supervisors while helping ensure accurate HR processes, timely documentation, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable employment requirements.

Requirements

  • Two to four years of broad human resources generalist experience.
  • Relevant education, training, or an equivalent combination of education and practical HR experience.
  • Working knowledge of general employment practices and applicable federal and Minnesota employment requirements.
  • Experience with recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, leave administration, employee records, and HR information systems.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities with limited supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and respectfully with American Indian youth, families, communities, employees, and individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Paylocity experience is a plus.
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, offers, background checks, and pre-employment requirements.
  • Manage employees onboarding in Paylocity and ensure all tasks and forms are completed.
  • Manage offboarding, including required documentation, HRIS updates, and employee record changes.
  • Administer employee benefit programs, including open enrollment, new hire onboarding, qualifying life event changes, terminations, employee questions, carrier coordination, and benefit-related recordkeeping.
  • Track and support employee leaves, including FMLA, Minnesota Paid Leave, reasonable accommodation processes, and other applicable protected or organizational leaves.
  • Support payroll processing by reviewing payroll-related information for accuracy, including employee changes, deductions, benefit elections, paid time off, and other HR-related payroll items. This position does not process payroll.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential personnel files, medical and leave records, benefit records, and HRIS information in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Provide first-level employee relations support, including routine employee questions and lower-level attendance, performance, and workplace concerns; escalate complex, sensitive, or higher-risk matters as appropriate.
  • Assist employees and supervisors with established HR procedures, benefit programs, leave requirements, and employment-related processes.
  • Assist with HR audits, required reporting, workers' compensation, unemployment, and other employment-related administrative processes as assigned.
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality of employee, medical, payroll, and organizational information.
  • Perform other related HR duties as assigned.
