About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist will have a strong background in employee relations, compliance, and performance management, with experience in handling investigations, workers' compensation, OSHA reporting, and managing various leave of absence programs. This role also involves supporting training initiatives and ensuring that mandatory training is completed for managers and supervisors. The HR Generalist will play an important role in fostering a positive and productive workplace while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR, with a focus on employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor laws, workers' compensation, OSHA regulations, and employee relations best practices.
  • Experience managing unemployment claims and administering leave of absence programs (FMLA, PFML, accommodations).
  • Proficient in HRIS systems and training platforms such as e-Academy.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for employee relations issues in a retail setting, addressing employee concerns, providing guidance on company policies, and fostering a positive and respectful work environment. Manage conflict resolution, mediation, and improve employee engagement.
  • Conduct comprehensive and impartial investigations into employee complaints, workplace incidents, and potential violations of company policy. Document findings and work with management to implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage and respond to unemployment claims by gathering necessary documentation and ensuring timely, accurate responses. Work with legal or external partners to handle disputed claims, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
  • Coordinate and facilitate training for managers and supervisors, some trainings through the e-Academy platform, ensuring that mandatory training is completed on time. Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure compliance with all training requirements.
  • Draft and send termination letters as needed, ensuring they are clear and accurate. Provide employees with necessary unemployment documentation and assist with the transition process.
  • Administer employee benefits by managing enrollments, benefit changes, and terminations, while providing timely support and assistance to employees with benefits-related questions and concerns.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
