About The Position

The HR Generalist performs a variety of complex administrative and human resources tasks. This role supports the HR department in various functions including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and employee relations. The HR Generalist ensures adherence to employment laws and best practices, and stays updated on HR trends and technologies.

Requirements

  • Experience in HR administration and program execution.
  • Knowledge of compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes, investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
  • Familiarity with background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Ability to maintain knowledge of HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments (e.g., safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, aptitude exams, certifications).
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions, collaborating with departmental managers to understand required skills and competencies.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks for administering and executing HR programs, including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex or sensitive matters to appropriate staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
