The Human Resources Generalist will play a key role in the administration, communication, and continuous improvement of employee benefit programs, including health and welfare plans, retirement programs, leave administration (FMLA), and total rewards. This role serves as a primary resource to employees, ensuring a high level of support and understanding of available benefits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • 3+ years of HR experience with a strong focus in benefits administration and leave management.
  • Working knowledge of FMLA, benefits programs, and HR compliance regulations
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (Paylocity preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support all employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits
  • Manage 401(k) retirement plan processes, including enrollments, contributions, and employee education.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits questions, eligibility, and claims resolution.
  • Coordinate and support open enrollment, including employee communication, meetings, and enrollment tracking.
  • Support payroll processes related to benefit deductions, 401(k) contributions, and benefit-related reporting
  • Administer FMLA and other leave programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Coordinate with employees, managers, and third-party administrators to manage leave cases and documentation.
  • Track leave usage and ensure proper integration with payroll and benefit continuation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations (ERISA, ACA, FMLA, COBRA, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports related to benefits, compensation, and headcount.
  • Assist with audits, filings, and ongoing compliance requirements.
  • Develop and distribute clear, employee-friendly communications related to benefits and total rewards.
  • Conduct new hire orientations with a strong focus on benefits education and enrollment.
  • Partner with HR leadership to enhance benefit offerings and improve employee engagement.
