About The Position

PSI is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join their scaling organization. The company mission is to help people quit smoking by providing safer alternatives to traditional cigarettes. As the leading distributor of electronic vaporizers and award-winning vaping products in Canada, PSI has made significant progress since its founding in 2013. The HR Generalist will be a dynamic, energetic, and strong team player supporting general HR programs within the organization. Reporting to the Director of HR, this role is responsible for the implementation and administration of HR programs and providing management and employees with a full range of human resources services across all functional areas including recruiting, employee relationships, learning and development, employment policies and practices, performance management, and employment law issues. The HR Generalist will have the opportunity to grow their career within a progressive and fast-paced entrepreneurial lead company.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of relevant University or College program and completion of post-secondary HR program is an asset
  • CHRP/CHRL designation or in progress
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to gain the trust and credibility of business managers
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while being able to be organized and being able to keep a float all information
  • Experience working with HIRS, Microsoft Office (Particularly Excel), and PowerPoint
  • Team-oriented and enjoys working in a highly collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication skills: strong verbal and written fluency in English required
  • A highly entrepreneurial individual who enjoys thinking outside the box and likes to identify solutions when there are gaps identified
  • Comfortable working with highly sensitive information and being able to keep the information confidential

Responsibilities

  • Provides coaching and counsel to management and employees to drive resolution in line with policies, guidelines, and employment law. Provides support to managers and employees concerning work-related problems.
  • Coordinates and facilitates results and action plans of the Employee Engagement survey in cooperation with Operations.
  • Collaborates with Director of HR and other relevant stakeholders in the development and/or customization of training materials. Participates in the delivery of higher impact training sessions and may lead and facilitate training sessions.
  • Collaborates with Director of HR on key projects/initiatives (e.g. Values implementation, performance management, Health & Safety, Compensation program.) and successfully drives to closure.
  • Build strong working relationships within other areas of HR to gain and share knowledge of changes, new programs, policies, etc. with employees and managers.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of current Legal requirements and HR industry trends and ensures compliance with current employment and labor relations legislation to reduce legal risks.
  • Other duties as assigned.
