About The Position

T45 Labs is a medical device innovation company seeking an HR Generalist to provide hands-on HR support across the company and its portfolio companies. This role involves administering HR systems, documentation, employee processes, and daily activities to ensure HR operations are accurate, responsive, and efficient. The HR Generalist will also be responsible for improving core HR operations and HRIS processes, maintaining employee records, coordinating with PEO/EOR partners, investigating HRIS/payroll/benefits issues, and collaborating on performance management frameworks. The position requires keeping HR initiatives visible, analyzing HR data, administering employment documentation, reviewing compensation and equity information, coordinating open enrollment, serving as a benefits resource, and managing new employee onboarding. Additionally, the role involves developing and documenting HR procedures, supporting employee communications, and assisting with compliance and other HR initiatives as business needs evolve.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of progressive experience as an HR Generalist, including hands-on HR operations and employee administration experience in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Hands-on experience administering HRIS platforms and working with PEO and EOR partners.
  • Demonstrated experience with benefits administration, onboarding, employee records, and employment-related documentation.
  • Comfortable interacting with people at every level of the organization—from interns to engineers, PhDs, MDs, executives, and Board Directors—and can adapt communication style while remaining clear, professional, and approachable.
  • Thrive in a growing, early-stage startup environment where processes are still being developed and priorities may shift quickly.
  • Bring structure to ambiguity, communicate directly, exercise sound judgment, and move work forward without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Permanently authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the medical device, life sciences, or another regulated industry is a plus, but not required.
  • SHRM-CP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and improve core HR operations and HRIS processes, including employee data, reporting, system accuracy, personnel records, and document maintenance.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and organized employee records across systems, files, and employment structures.
  • Coordinate with PEO and EOR partners to address payroll, benefits, employment administration, and operational requirements for employees in different locations or employment structures.
  • Investigate HRIS, payroll, benefits, and employee data issues, coordinate with the appropriate internal and external resources, and follow through until they are resolved.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Director of HR to develop and implement a practical performance management framework, including goal setting, review cycles, manager guidance, supporting documentation, communications, and organizational follow-through.
  • Keep HR initiatives visible and moving by communicating expectations, following up with managers and employees, identifying roadblocks, clarifying next steps, and closing outstanding items.
  • Analyze HR data and prepare reporting to identify trends, gaps, or inconsistencies that may inform workforce planning, compensation, benefits administration, and other people-related decisions.
  • Administer employment-related documentation, including NDAs, consulting agreements, offer letters, employment agreements, amendments, and related records.
  • Coordinate the preparation, review, routing, execution, and filing of employment documents, ensuring information is accurate and required approvals are obtained.
  • Review compensation and equity-related information as needed, including verifying that approved offer terms, compensation changes, and stock option awards are accurately documented.
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment, including planning, employee communications, deadlines, participation tracking, and follow-up.
  • Serve as the go-to resource for employee benefits questions, investigate issues, and work with benefits partners to resolve them promptly.
  • Coordinate new employee onboarding and orientation with the Sr. Operations Manager and IT, including documentation, scheduling, technology setup, internal communications, and first-day readiness.
  • Track onboarding activities and follow up with employees, managers, IT, and other stakeholders to ensure all required steps are completed.
  • Develop, document, and improve HR procedures, workflows, templates, and internal resources as the organization grows.
  • Support employee communications, compliance-related administration, and other HR initiatives and operational priorities as business needs evolve.
