About The Position

Trucco, a part of Gruppo Orsero, a leader in the distribution of high-quality fresh fruit and vegetables in Mediterranean Europe, is seeking an HR Generalist/Coordinator for its Bronx, New York headquarters. This role will support the day-to-day HR functions for both the Bronx office and a New Jersey warehouse. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, comfortable with diverse responsibilities, and eager to contribute to building HR foundations from the ground up in a growing team.

Requirements

• A few years of experience in an HR generalist, coordinator, or HR assistant role, ideally in a small or growing company.
• Working familiarity with U.S. HR practices, including recruitment, onboarding, and basic payroll/benefits concepts.
• Highly organized and comfortable managing several priorities at once across two work sites.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in supporting employees day-to-day.
• Comfortable working with HR systems and keeping records accurate and up to date.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with New York and/or New Jersey employment practices is a plus, though not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruitment for open roles: job postings, applicant screening, interview scheduling, and offer coordination.
• Own onboarding and offboarding for both the Bronx office and the New Jersey warehouse.
• Maintain employee records, HR systems, and day-to-day HR reporting.
• Support payroll, timecard, PTO, and leave administration, including coordination with our external payroll/benefits provider.
• Serve as the first point of contact for employees on HR questions, policies, and benefits enrollment.
• Help coordinate workers' compensation, unemployment, and other compliance matters alongside our external HR partners.
• Support the Director of Human Resources on HR projects, including performance review cycles and employee programs.
