About The Position

USA Lacrosse is seeking an experienced Human Resource (HR) Generalist to collaborate with the Director, Human Resources. This role will provide comprehensive HR support across various functions including HR operations, HRIS management, payroll, recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and offboarding. The HR Generalist will serve as a trusted resource for employees and leaders, fostering a positive, productive, and supportive work environment that prioritizes diversity, equity, and inclusion. The ideal candidate is hands-on, people-focused, passionate about creating a positive workplace, thrives in a collaborative setting, and is a reliable HR partner. Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in human resources providing administrative and employee-facing support in multiple areas, including recruitment, benefits administration, payroll, training, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Experience maintaining data and navigating HRIS systems with the ability to train users.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll processing, payroll tax regulations and compliance, and payroll controls, including end-to-end payroll processing with the ability to research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Knowledge and experience in payroll accounting, reconciliation, and general ledger entry.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, provide excellent customer service, and build trusted and effective working relationships with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to actively listen, understand facts, see the big picture, and understand potential impact on employees/departments/organization to conduct risk analysis for effective management and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to conduct research for policy development and other HR-related organizational projects.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 products, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong knowledge using HRIS systems with the aptitude to learn new platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, problem solve, meet required deadlines, and exceptional attention to detail and follow-up/through skills.
  • Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and interpersonal.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and understand how to handle confidential information.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a hybrid (in-office/remote work) environment.
  • Energetic and proactive 'go-getter' with the ability to present a professional 'customer first' persona.
  • Willingness to be flexible with work schedule to work occasional nights and/or weekends as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.
  • Previous work experience in a non-profit, association, or other member-based organization.
  • Experience using ADP Workforce Now.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Director, Human Resources to provide HR support for USA Lacrosse employees on all HR-related policies, processes, questions, and concerns.
  • Administer HR processes and programs such as benefits, policy development and enforcement, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training, employee relations, and offboarding.
  • Maintain employee data in the HRIS (ADP) ensuring compliance, confidentiality, and protection of employee information.
  • Interpret and advise employees and managers on company HR policies, procedures, employment law, and compliance regulations.
  • Assist with the coordination of the offboarding process, including employee transition and system disabling.
  • Monitor and analyze turnover patterns and partner with the Director, Human Resources to address workforce and employee engagement challenges.
  • Support the Director, Human Resources with HR-related research, policy and procedure revision/development, job descriptions, employee training, employee surveys, event planning, and other HR initiatives.
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process in partnership with the Director, Human Resources, supporting hiring managers and maintaining the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Source candidates using traditional and non-traditional methods to ensure a diverse applicant pool.
  • Ensure candidates receive thorough and timely communication throughout the recruitment process.
  • Own the new hire onboarding process, coordinating schedules, ensuring equipment and system setup, new hire paperwork, compliance training, and benefits enrollment.
  • Prepare and process multi-state bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Review timecard and PTO approvals, research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Complete per pay and monthly payroll reconciliation for general ledger entry.
  • Create, run, analyze, and distribute standard and ad hoc HR reports for audits, compliance, and workforce planning.
  • Troubleshoot payroll system issues and coordinate with the payroll provider for support.
  • Assist with the oversight and maintenance of all USA Lacrosse benefits plans, including enrollments, changes, and issue resolution.
  • Monitor and track benefits changes and invoice reconciliation.
  • Assist with managing employee leaves (FMLA, maternity, parental, etc.), ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Assist the Director, Human Resources with the annual benefits renewal and Open Enrollment process.
  • Maintain knowledge of employment laws (state, local, and federal) and HR industry trends.
  • Support changes in USA Lacrosse's organizational structure, policies, and practices, championing change and advocating for both the organization and its employees.
